Robert W. Heffer, PhD

Dr. Rob Heffer earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology through the clinical child psychology track at Louisiana State University. He completed his internship, with a child and family emphasis, at West Virginia University Medical Center in Morgantown, WV. He worked in the Psychology Department at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans for four years prior to joining the clinical psychology faculty at Texas A&M University in 1991. Currently, he is the Director of the TAMU Psychology Clinic, which is the primary training site for clinical psychology doctoral students at Texas A&M University. He served clients in part-time private practice at his University Pediatric Association office September 1995 through August 2004, when he joined Associates for Applied Psychology. Dr. Heffer is a licensed psychologist in Texas and is listed with the National Register of Health Service Providers. In addition, he is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology in Texas. None of his private practice services are associated with his employment at Texas A&M University.

 Dr. Heffer has developed expertise in working with toddlers, children, adolescents, and their families. When authorized by the family to do so, Dr. Heffer readily consults with teachers, physicians, and other professionals involved with the family.
